Annual Youth Hunts
The future of our sport rely on the efforts of those generations younger than us. To help promote those efforts and educate youth in the importance of what Pheasants Forever, we host an annual hunt, showcasing why our organization is important, but at the same time having some fun with our leaders of tomorrow. Northern Polk partners with other local chapters and outdoor groups to hold the Mid-Iowa Youth event every fall. Details on this event will be included as they are finalized in the summer of 2018.
Annual Banquet
Please join us for the Northern Polk Pheasants Forever Fundraising Banquet and help make our banquet bigger and better than ever. We pride our selves on having one of the best banquet in the area. By attending the Iowa banquet, you are a part of a very unique event that will make a positive difference for wildlife habitat across the nation, as well as in Dallas and Polk County. Pheasants Forever operates under the very unique model of empowering local chapters with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds will be spent. PF is the only national conservation organization that operates through this truly grassroots structure. This local control allows Pheasants Forever members to see the fruits of their chapter efforts in their own communities, while belonging to a national organization with a voice on federal conservation policy in Washington D.C.
Monthly Meetings
Join us for our monthly meetings. The Northern Polk Pheasants Forever chapter would like to invite all members to attend these meetings. We discuss local habitat projects, youth events, annual banquet or other items related to Pheasants Forever and our local community in Iowa.
Habitat Day
Please contact chapter leaders for information regarding upcoming habitat clean-up days. These events are typically a morning full of brush clearing, invasive species removal and habitat improvement on local public hunting ground.
Mentored Adult Hunting Opportunities
Annual Adult Mentored Upland Hunting Class and Field Day. Includes an evening of discussion on pheasant habitat, biology and hunting regulations followed by time spent shooting trap for practice. The following day, attendees are paired with a Hunting Mentor and taken out for a half day guided pheasant hunt on prime Central Iowa Pheasant habitat.
